Style of Cut for Old Fashioned Large White Calla Lily | Regular Cut Calla Lilies | Open Cut Calla Lilies | | Regular cut calla lilies are harvested fairly tight and will open to about 2/3 to 3/4 full. Some may open 100%. Many people consider this a more elegant look and is the common practice. Because they are picked tightly, there is minimal bruising/damage during shipment. After they are taken out of box and processed they will begin opening. Within 3-5 days they will open to an average 3/4 stage of openness and will last 7-10 days. | Open cut calla lilies are harvested in a more open stage. The biggest benefit of open cut calla lilies is that they can be used virtually right out of the box, whereas regular cut callas require some time for that perfect look. Open cut callas will continue to open and develop once they are processed and in a vase. There is more risk of bruising open cut callas during shipment, however, our specialized packing techniques significantly minimizes that risk. |
