As of 2006, Oregon Coastal Flowers has expanded our hydrangea production to South America. We built up such a good market for our quality coastal hydrangeas that supply was our limiting factor. Because of our seasonal production, we were only able to produce colored hydrangeas from July through September. By working with a few select growers in Colombia, we can now offer beautiful hydrangeas year round. High in the Andea mountains near the equator, a unique growing environment exists where hydrangeas can be grown year round. We have partnered with key growers in Colombia, training them with our strict hydrangea quality control guidelines. With regular visits and daily communication, we have been able to replicate our hydrangea production here in Oregon on our off-season. Privately labeled as Oregon Coastal Flowers, hydrangea flowers from these select farms can now be delivered to you from October through June. Hydrangeas shipped farm direct and held to the same quality standards as those hydrangeas produced in Oregon. The two best quality colors that we produce in South America are natural light blue and prestine white. Other colors we supply by tinting, including pink, purple, lavender, green—actually an endless amount of colors. If you require a unique color we do not offer on this page’s order form, please contact us as it is likely we can supply that color in the tinted form. Tinted hydrangeas are basically sprayed the color you desire. The average size of our hydrangea flowers are 5-6 inches in diameter, however, some hydrangea heads may be as small as 4 inches in diameter and some hydrangea heads as large as 8” in diameter. The average stem length is between 20-24” tall.
