Gloriosa Lily Bulbs - Uncover the Mystery of the Climbing Lily or Flame Lily.

A climbing tuberous perennial that uses tendrils at the ends of its leaves to climb surrounding plants or structures.  Gloriosa tubers are hardy to zone 8 if unprotected.  In colder zones, use as patio plant or lift and store for winter.  Good drainage in the winter is the key to perennial growth.  Tubers should be planted horizontally 2-3” below the soil surface.  Plants bloom mid summer through fall and mature tubers can climb as high as 6’.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Plants require a structure to climb on.  Store tubers in dry, dark place until planting

Gloriosa Lily Bulbs/Climbing Lilies
My husband bought me these for Mother's Day 2 years ago. I had never seen them before and knew nothing about them. He planted them for me near our AC unit in the back yard and I honestly forgot about them. It was also near a water faucet that we used often therefore between the condensation of the AC and water faucet they got the water they needed to grow. When they came up and started growing around and over the AC I couldn't believe how well they were growing and the amount of blooms on them. I took loads of photos throughout the summer and sent to family and friends. Showing everyone how beautiful these gorgeous flowers were. They remained green and continued blooming until the weather started getting very chilly at night and we had to bring the bulbs in for the winter. This is one of my favorite flowers in my yard now. They are very beautiful and needs very little to no attention...
